Another Californian contract for Connexionz
Connexionz Limited, today announced that it has signed a contract for the implementation of a real time passenger vehicle information system with the Kings County Area Public Transit Agency, California USA. Kings County Area Public Transit Agency is based in Hanford.
Hanford is an important commercial and cultural centre in the south central San Joaquin Valley in central California.Kings County Area Public Transit Agency (KCAPTA) operates a fleet of 21 fixed route buses and 12 “dial-a-ride” vehicles which provide public transit services for a total population in the service area of about 150,000. Connexionz have contracted with KCAPTA to provide and implement an Intelligent Transit System that will increase the availability of transit information and dissemination; and improve KCAPTA’s overall dispatching, operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and security of its transit services. The vehicle information system will also have automated voice announcements of next stop information and automated passenger counting to help KCAPTA determine which stops are most heavily used and to enable schedules and routes to be designed based on actual ridership data.
