City of Pasadena selects Connexionz

Connexionz Limited announced today that it has been selected for a US$ 1.26M contract, for the supply of a Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) system for the City of Pasadena, located in the greater Los Angeles area of California.

Connexionz success in winning Pasadena follows closely on from the completion of a similar RTPI contract in Santa Clarita in April 2011 which is located just 50 km (31 miles) to the north east of the City of Pasadena.

With our success in the City of Pasadena, Connexionz is now even more strongly positioned to secure further contracts, as this project will add to our list of reference sites in California. The City of Pasadena has a population of approximately 146,000 and is visited by millions of people annually. The Pasadena Area Rapid Transit System (ARTS) provides public transportation to over 1.65 million passengers annually.

Connexionz produces Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for public transport agencies. These systems, which collectively form part of the Connexionz TransitManager platform, allow passengers to receive up to the minute arrival times through a variety of convenient options including interactive web sites, SMS, smart phones, dial-up voice response systems and a variety of interactive bus stop signs. TransitManager also assists bus operators with the management of their fleets and assists local government officials to administer their public transport systems, assisting transit agencies to further improve upon their service to the public, which ultimately results in an increase and retention of ridership.
